TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 36-year-old woman for allegedly swindling a man out of 13.5 million yen to feed her host club addiction.

According to police, the crimes of Yoshiko Takamatsu earned her a notorious nickname among investigators, reports Nippon News Network (Oct. 1).

Takamastu met a man in his 60s through a dating app last year. She allegedly spun a web of lies to extort cash from him, telling the victim, “My father has cancer and needs to undergo surgery.”

Under the guise of needing financial assistance for her father’s medical treatments, Takamatsu reportedly defrauded the man out of a total of 13.5 million yen in cash.

Upon her arrest, Takamatsu admitted to the allegations. “I scammed him so I could use the money at host clubs,” she told police.

Police investigations revealed that she had frequently consulted the victim about her family’s deteriorating health, despite the fact that no one in her family was actually hospitalized.

Due to her calculated extortion tactics, investigators nicknamed her “Itadaki Yoshiko,” which is a play on Itadaki-joshi , meaning a “Sugar Baby” grifter known for scamming older men.
